It seems to break the download on some platforms.

Couldn't we investigate first on which platforms it fails and why ?

We could, but this change could be done in a separate PR, and cover all downloads, not only rudder-agent.
It seems to break SLES+Debian+Ubuntu, only RHEL/Fedora work correctly...
