Bug #3656
closedcan't start motd with empty line
Description
When I edit my MOTD directive, I can't start the "Message of the day (MOTD) to display" text area with empty lines.
They are removed every time I save (see screenshot - I use dots as workaround)
Using 2.6.2 with Safari Version 7.0 (9537.43.7)

Thank you for the bug report François!
It may be because the string was trimmed before being inserted.
Nice workaround though!
I targeted to 2.4.7, I'll confirm that soon

Yes text is trimmed by the webapp, so no empty lines at beginning and end of a textfield... We should handle that case

Vincent, can you look into this and get a fix ready please? This should not be trimmed.

This is trickier than expected.
Simply removing the trim in policyVariableToString isn't sufficient, as the deserialisation from ldap loose the first empty line
