it's not possible to define variables with " in them in generic variable definition

Description

Generic variable definition is eagerly refusing any " in it, for fear of breaking the generated code
However, we do have proper variable sanitizatin since (at least) 2.9

So this precaution is only preventing user from using ", without real reason
