I don't know if it's relevant, but

#systemctl list-unit-files | grep rudder
#

but
systemctl cat rudder-slapd

returns something, including
[Service]

IgnoreSIGPIPE=no

GuessMainPID=no
RemainAfterExit=yes
ExecStart=/etc/init.d/rudder-slapd start
