User story #5974
closedIf the ldap server is unavailable, there is no way to connect
Description
In an ideal case, all the infrastructure is manager by Rudder (including the authentication server).
If the authentication server fails, you can't connect on Rudder. However, you may need to do so to repair the authentication server.
To avoid it we should have a way to fallback authentication to a locally defined admin user.

It is always possible to change rudder-users.xml temporarily to add an admin user, this is not really a bug.

Since Rudder 3.2.0, we have the possibility to define a root password not linked to LDAP or the user file with "rudder.auth.admin.login" in the webapp properties file. I think it fullfill the requirement here. I'm closing that ticket.

Also, since Rudder 3.2, you can give several auth method in an ordered list, so that if LDAP fails, the next one is tried.
