User story #7251
closedManagement of shared-files
Description
As a rudder user, I would like to be able to browse/upload/edit/manage files that are in the `/var/rudder/configuration-repository/shared-files` folder.
Each time a change is made in the directory or to a file, I would like the change to be committed in the underlying git repository.

No thanks I'm fine the way it is.
The implementation of this kind of feature should not disrupt the underlying workflow that some users have already implemented.

We could do it for a specific sub directory of shared-files

I'd prefer an option to NOT have the feature at all

@Marc: +1
@Olivier: You can keep your workflow and we could be able to do it in the GUI
@Benoît: You should implement it for the whole directory /var/rudder/configuration-repository/shared-files and then create a button to commit, so people can choose whether it'll be commited or not

My point is... having a GUI to do everything and then still having do some things out of the GUI, like adding a rudder-user or edit a shared
file, feels a bit silly. I'd prefer to keep my focus in one place. Just my 2 cents...

- Category set to Web - Config management
- Target version set to Ideas (not version specific)
Thanks Marc for your proposal !
I think this is a good idea to add the possibility to manage shared files via a GUI
I clearly agree with Olivier that it should not change how people manage their shared file and interfere with their current workflow
