When modifying groups in rules settings, we have no idea if the change will modify the pool of nodes where the rule is applied

Description
I had an old rule, based on not very clear groups and exclusions.
I wanted to clean up the rule settings, by defining new groups more appropriate.
But when modifying the rule settings and using my new groups and exlusions groups, I have no simple way to know if my change impacted the pool of nodes where the rule was already applied.
Having a possibility to display a diff of the nodes impacted between "before edit", and "while editing" could be great in such case.
