Description

I found this bug in Rudder version 4.2, on ubuntu

This bug happens:

  • During removal of Rudder server

Description:

INFO: Removing group rudder...groupdel: cannot remove the primary group of user 'rudder'
dpkg: error processing package rudder-webapp (--purge):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 8
INFO: Removing the ncf-api-venv user...dpkg: error processing package ncf-api-virtualenv (--purge):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 8

You can reproduce it with the following steps:

apt-get install rudder-server-root
apt-get remove --purge rudder-agent rudder-inventory-endpoint rudder-inventory-ldap rudder-jetty rudder-reports rudder-server-relay rudder-server-root rudder-techniques rudder-webapp ncf ncf-api-virtualenv

You can workaround this issue by doing likewise: Remove manually the affected user and group and rerun remove
